With almost every person owning a digital camera, sadly not knowing how to use it to its full potential, Fine-art Landscape and Travel photographers, Joe & Jonelle Louw soon developed a desire to assist everyday photographers to improve their general travel photography skills.  From this ambition thombe SAFARI was born. Through their tremendous passion for nature, the African continent and photography it was decided to keep their business name as local and African as they are.  They exposed themselves to another language for some creative inspiration and in a flash “thombe” came up.  From the limited Zulu dictionary they chose this name, which is also the meaning for photo or photography in this native language.

thombe SAFARI will allow you the opportunity to visit remarkable and sometimes remote places, while under the watchful eye from two professional photographers.  Having travelled to various parts of Southern Africa to capture breathtaking images of unspoilt natural beauty and GREAT PHOTOGRAPHIC LOCATIONS Joe & Jonelle have also become knowledgeable travellers whilst following their true passion of photography.

The main focus of thombe SAFARI lies with the passionate photographer, longing to learn about and to improve their photographic knowledge and artistic skills.  With these safaris you will venture into some of the most beautiful places in Southern Africa, including South Africa, Namibia, Botswana and other countries.  You will have optimal photographic opportunities to capture fantastic photographs when visiting some of the best scenic locations, full of colour and contrast, assuring your own work of art.

thombe SAFARI is proudly supporting conservation organisations and aims to donate a percentage from their profits on a regular basis to them.  Joe & Jonelle are both enthusiastic conservationists at heart and always do their best to consider the environment before taking any action.  They want to create more awareness through thombe SAFARI to encourage people to care and conserve, assuring the existence of our magnificent reserves and animals for generations to come.  They also believe it should be mandatory in every country to recycle and that governments should support and fund it while making it easy to do.  Those who have free access to running water should learn to appreciate and value it.  Save electricity!
